Description
BUGZERO is a highly innovative systemic insecticide containing Pymetrozine 50% WG, belonging to the pyridine azomethine group of insecticides. It stands out from conventional insecticides through its completely unique mode of action — Pymetrozine works by blocking the stylet probing and feeding activity of sucking insects, causing them to stop feeding immediately upon contact or ingestion. Unable to feed, the target pests gradually weaken and die within 1–4 days while causing no further damage to the crop. This novel feeding blockage mechanism makes BUGZERO highly effective even against pest populations that have developed resistance to neonicotinoids, organophosphates and pyrethroid insecticides.
BUGZERO possesses both systemic and translaminar activity — it is rapidly absorbed through the leaf surface and translocated throughout the plant, providing protection to new growth and plant parts not directly contacted by the spray. This makes it particularly effective against hoppers and aphids that feed on the underside of leaves and on new growth where direct spray coverage is difficult to achieve. Its water dispersible granule formulation dissolves quickly and completely in water, ensuring uniform spray coverage and consistent pest control results with standard spray equipment.
One of the key advantages of BUGZERO is its high selectivity towards sucking pests — it has minimal impact on beneficial insects, natural enemies and pollinators, making it an ideal choice for integrated pest management programmes where preservation of natural pest control agents is important. With residual protection of up to 20–25 days and effectiveness at a low application rate of just 80–100 grams per acre, BUGZERO is both an economical and environmentally responsible crop protection solution. It is particularly recommended for brown planthopper management in rice where resistance to conventional insecticides has become a serious challenge for farmers.
