Description

PROHEXA 44 is a highly specialized dual acaricide containing Propargite 42% + Hexythiazox 2% EC, combining two of the most effective mite control molecules from completely different chemical groups for complete and long lasting mite life cycle management. Propargite belongs to the sulfite ester group of acaricides and works by disrupting mitochondrial ATP synthesis in mite cells, causing energy starvation and death of nymphs and adult mites upon contact. Hexythiazox belongs to the thiazolidinone group of acaricides and works by inhibiting mite moulting through chitin synthesis disruption — it is specifically outstanding against mite eggs and early instar nymphs, preventing them from developing into reproductive adults and breaking the mite population cycle at its source.

The strategic combination of these two complementary acaricides in PROHEXA 44 provides complete mite life cycle coverage that no single acaricide molecule can achieve alone. Propargite rapidly controls existing mobile nymph and adult mite populations that are causing active feeding damage to the crop, while Hexythiazox simultaneously targets eggs and early instar nymphs that would otherwise survive, hatch and rebuild the population within 7–10 days. This dual life stage attack — knockdown of current population combined with prevention of next generation establishment — gives PROHEXA 44 an exceptionally long residual effectiveness of up to 30–40 days from a single well-timed application.

PROHEXA 44 emulsifiable concentrate formulation ensures excellent mixing in water, uniform spray coverage and strong adhesion to leaf surfaces for maximum contact with mite populations on both leaf surfaces. It is particularly recommended for mite management in high value fruit orchards, cotton and tea plantations where mite infestations can escalate rapidly during hot and dry conditions and cause severe bronzing, leaf drop, defoliation and significant yield and quality loss if not controlled promptly. With two completely different modes of action combined in a single product, PROHEXA 44 is also an outstanding resistance management tool — ensuring effective mite control even in fields where populations have developed resistance to single molecule acaricides through repeated use.
