Description
ETHOMAX is a highly effective combination insecticide and acaricide containing Ethion 40% + Cypermethrin 5% EC, bringing together two complementary molecules from different chemical groups for comprehensive pest and mite control. Ethion belongs to the organophosphate group and works by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase enzyme activity in the nervous system of both insects and mites, providing reliable contact and stomach action against a broad spectrum of pests including mites, scale insects and aphids. Cypermethrin belongs to the synthetic pyrethroid group and works by disrupting voltage-gated sodium ion channels in insect nerves, delivering immediate fast knockdown of chewing and sucking insects upon contact.
The powerful combination of Ethion and Cypermethrin in ETHOMAX gives farmers a significant advantage over single molecule products — delivering both the broad mite and scale insect activity of Ethion and the fast knockdown of chewing insects by Cypermethrin in a single spray application. This makes ETHOMAX particularly valuable in crops like cotton, mango and citrus where simultaneous infestations of both mites and insects are extremely common during the hot dry season — eliminating the need for separate miticide and insecticide applications and saving considerable time, labour and input costs.
ETHOMAX emulsifiable concentrate formulation ensures excellent mixing in water, uniform spray coverage and strong adhesion to leaf surfaces. For best results against mites and scale insects, thorough coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces is essential as these pests typically congregate on the underside of leaves. With good residual activity of up to 15–20 days and a broad pest and mite spectrum, ETHOMAX provides reliable and comprehensive crop protection across a wide range of high value crops. It is particularly recommended for integrated mite and insect management programmes in fruit orchards and cotton where combined pest pressure can cause severe and rapid yield loss if not controlled promptly. For long term efficacy, rotate with acaricides and insecticides of different mode of action to prevent resistance development in mite populations.
