Description

CARBANMAX is a highly effective and widely trusted broad-spectrum combination fungicide containing Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP — one of the most popular and time-tested fungicide combinations in Indian agriculture. Carbendazim belongs to the benzimidazole group of systemic fungicides and works by inhibiting beta-tubulin polymerization during fungal cell division, preventing nuclear division and causing complete cessation of fungal growth and spread within infected plant tissue. Mancozeb belongs to the dithiocarbamate group of protective fungicides and works through multi-site inhibition of multiple fungal enzyme systems simultaneously — disrupting respiration, lipid metabolism and cell membrane integrity of fungal spores on the crop surface.

The combination of systemic and protective modes of action in CARBANMAX gives it a decisive advantage over single molecule fungicides — Carbendazim provides curative systemic activity that moves through the plant to arrest established infections already inside plant tissue, while Mancozeb forms a broad-spectrum protective barrier on the crop surface that prevents new fungal spores from germinating and causing fresh infections. This complementary dual action ensures comprehensive disease control both inside and outside the plant — providing complete protection that neither molecule can achieve independently.

The multi-site mode of action of Mancozeb combined with the single-site action of Carbendazim also provides an important resistance management benefit — the multi-site activity of Mancozeb significantly reduces the selection pressure for Carbendazim resistance development in fungal populations, making CARBANMAX a more durable and longer lasting disease management tool than Carbendazim alone.
