BLAST GUARD is a highly effective systemic selective herbicide containing Metsulfuron Methyl 20% WP, widely trusted for broadleaf weed control in wheat and rice crops across India. It belongs to the sulfonylurea group of herbicides and works by inhibiting the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS), which is essential for the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids in plants. Without these amino acids, weed growth stops completely within 2–4 days of application and plants die within 7–10 days.

One of the key advantages of BLAST GUARD is its extremely low application rate — just 8–10 grams per acre is sufficient for complete weed control. This makes it one of the most economical herbicide options available to farmers today. Its wettable powder formulation dissolves easily in water and provides uniform coverage across the field with standard spraying equipment.
